DRAWING & PAINTING FOUNDATIONS

Designed for young artists ready to strengthen their skills, this 8-week foundations course introduces the building blocks of drawing and painting through guided instruction and creative projects. Students will explore drawing and shading, painting and color theory, perspective, and composition while developing confidence in their own artistic style.

LINOCUT PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP
A hands-on introduction to linocut and block printing.
AGES 11+ | WEDNESDAY | 4:00–5:00 PM | OCT. 14-DEC. 2 | $250
Explore the art of linocut printmaking in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop! Students will learn how to safely use carving tools, design their own printing blocks, and transform original ideas into one-of-a-kind prints.
Throughout the eight weeks, artists will build confidence with tool control, positive and negative space, texture, composition, mirror-image design, and carving techniques while progressing from small rubber stamps to a larger, fully planned linocut artwork.

Projects They’ll Create
3 Mini Rubber Stamps
Design, carve, and print three original 2” × 2” stamps.
2 Small Linocut Prints
Develop carving and composition skills while creating two 2” × 3” linocut designs.
1 Final Linocut Artwork
Plan, design, carve, and print a larger 4” × 6” original piece over multiple class sessions.
No previous printmaking or linocut experience is required. This workshop is designed for beginners who are excited to learn, practice, and develop a new artistic skill.
All art materials are provided.
